Surrender was a piece that ended up giving me a deeper meaning to my art development. Originally, it was part of my Weekly Letting Go project, where I would create one art piece a week without much planning. I was creating a lot more art in such a short time that my little home studio was filled with finished work with barely any room to start a new piece.
A few weeks after Surrender was done, I was reaching out to a box of pencils on the shelf and my jacked got tangled onto the sculpture and as I was turning, the whole piece fell on my foot. I was badly bruised as you can see on the picture bellow and my ladies’ legs broke in half. After the initial frustration, I realized this must have meant that it was time to find a bigger space, to give my art the place it deserves to flourish. Everything after that worked in a way that now I have been working in an amazing Art Studio only 15 mins away from my home, a huge step for my art career. It felt liberating. I took my time fixing my Surrender piece. I decided to give her new wings and I positioned her a little taller so she feels the background better than before. Here’s the result of Surrender (updated).
