I’m creating a CALENDAR related to Hearing Loss
And I can’t wait to share it with you! Creating awareness on Hearing Loss is important to me and the art that I create for this platform. Every month I’ll be working on a new calendar page, making a 3D scene from scratch with puppets/dolls of children and adults with different types of hearing loss. The scenes will be whimsical and the calendar will include events that happen throughout the year. Here are the dates I will be including:
- February 3rd-9th – Tinnitus Awareness Week
- February 25th – Cochlear Implant Day
- March 3rd – World Hearing Day
- March 7th – Alexander Graham Bell Day
- March 13th-April 15th – National Deaf History Month
- April 15th – ASL Day
- April 29th Noise Awareness Day
- May – Speech and Better Hearing Month
- June 27th Helen Keller Day
- September – Deaf Awareness Month
- September 15th-21st – Balance Awareness Week
- September – Third Saturday – Usher Syndrome Awareness Day
- October – Audiology Awareness Month
- November 9th – Microtia Awareness Day
The Calendar will be available for purchase on November 2020. I will be creating a Crowdfunding Campaign and taking pre-orders possibly around the Summer time. I will also be hosting an Art Show at my art studio’s gallery: the Mare Island Art Studios where you will have a chance to see all the scenes displayed side by side. I plan on inviting local schools to tour the event. Time and budget permitting, I envision on turning these scenes into a children’s book as well.
