At the heart of this piece is the womb, the center of all life, where the Tree of Life flourishes. In its core, a child is enveloped by its own source energy, radiating out through her chest.
The painting’s journey unfolds along a path through a field of sunflowers, representing the connection between the inner and outer worlds. The woman’s tears, flowing as a symbol of release, nourish the earth, while her breath energizes her heart and body. Her heart’s arteries transform into red birds, taking flight within and around her, signifying freedom, renewal, and vitality.
This work reflects the act of letting go of pain to heal, nourish, and empower oneself—a message especially resonant as it was created during the transformative time of the 2020 quarantine.
