During the Coal Shed Art Studios Re-opening event, reporter Richard Freedman and photographer Chris Riley came and saw my work for the first time. We set up a time for a real interview and Freedman surprised me with having my article make the cover of the Vallejo Times Herald Newspaper.
Every article that comes out, every new person that gets to know my art and the mission within it, the closer I get to my dream of advocating for people to take ownership of themselves. Here’s what I wrote on my instagram post today:
Share your story, advocate, help others who may need a little support, or a lot. It’s important! Your journey may help someone you don’t even know. We all matter! YOU matter! Don’t hide the things from you that you think others won’t accept. Embrace it. Be yourself fully. Don’t let others take that away from you. This is the message of my art. This is what I want to convey to you. I’ve been there. I know it. I want to be a part of what makes our world at least a little bit better. I hope it inspires you to do the same.
